Now onto item 23. This has been quite a challenge for me since I am not too computer savvy. Some of it was a lot more technical than I would have liked. Others was fun. I really felt crunched for time so I could not devote the time I would have liked to most of the projects. I am going to keep the instructions and hopefully will have some time to go back and explore some of the websites at a more leasurely pace.

I really liked making the poster. That was a lot of fun. I also plan to go back to wikispaces and set up my own wiki. I really like the idea of keeping recipes on there. Then when people ask for a recipe, I can refer them to my wiki. Shelley asked if I wanted to contribute recipes to her wiki. So that is an option also.

And when I get my Amazon Kindle, I will definitely get back into downloading books, books, and more books.

I do not spend a lot of time on the internet, so I am not too sure how the rss feeds, search engines, podcasts, would be beneficial to me at this time. It's good to know that such things exist. Maybe, if I explore more, I will find a use for more of them in my life.

Well, it is now 11:40 on 4/5/2010. I actually finished before the deadline of 4/6/2010.
Thanks to Penny setting up a new account for audiobooks, since I could not remember my login and password, I was able to download the Adventures of Robin Hood by Evelyn Charles Vivian. I did not have time to peruse the website now, but I have done it in the past when my mp3 player was working. Then I had downloaded a number of books and thoroughly enjoyed listening to them. Sometime this year, I will have an Amazon Kindle, whether I win it or buy it. That is a nust do for this year. I really miss being able to download books and take them with me.

Podcasts are becoming very popular. I went to podcastdirectory.com and found a few things. One was the entire book, Pride and Prejudice read by Annie. You could download it in segments. Chapters 1-4 are found at http://www.podcastdirectory.com/podshows/4339494. Other chapters are found there also. Also found Bloody good chocolate fudge recipe at http://www.podcastdirectory.com/podshows/7486530. Podcasts are the up and coming thing in the scientific community. I work on a journal called Gastroenterology and almost every article has a podcast attached to it.

I picked Celtic Woman in When You Believe. They are a group that I really like. It was not too difficult to find something of theirs. I will try to place it in here and see if it works.

I'm not sure where to get the "embeddable player" thing but I did find the Edit Html button.
I went to ResearchPro and did several searches. I can see where this would be extremely helpful for school projects. And it was not very difficult.
The item entitled "Cleaning Expedition" was written in Zohowriter and pulled into the blog.

Cleaning Expedition

23 Things Cleaning Expedition

This past weekend was a cleaning expedition at our house. We needed to houseclean our library/computer room. There was literally a single path in and out of the room. The right side of the room has built in bookshelves from floor to ceiling. The end has a window. The computer desk was in front of this window. The left side has a closet, since this was essentially a fourth bedroom, and a wall which had a moveable bookcase. There were also an endtable and variour chairs piled full of books, etc, as well as piles all over the floor.

Our objective was to move the computer desk where the moveable bookcase was and put a chair in the corner with the other bookcase beneath the window.

I started by removing everything from the moveable bookcase and them we moved it out of the room. I then emptied everything to the left of the computer desk and most things on the computer desk. We vacuumed everything as it was empty before moving anything in its place. We then moved the computer desk to its place next to the closet. It fits very nicely.

Next on the agenda, was to start the piles of things on the tables and chairs in from of the built-in shelves. When the first section, there are 3, was cleared I then started to go through the items on the shelves of the first section.

Now it was time to move the other bookcase back into the room. I decided that it would be the home of all my cookbooks. I worked my way around the room until all items were either designated as keeps, donations to multiple places, recyclables, or just plain junk.

There were 5 bins of my daughters things when she was younger that got packed away to go into our crawlspace.

All in all in was a good weekend's work. The books still need to be reorganized on the shelves and some of the cookbooks need weeded out. If I have some time tonight after these projects, I will start on that.

Then, of course, there are a multitude of piles of books in the bedroom, along with puzzles, which can be coordinated into the library. Hopefully this can be done, or mostly done in a couple of weeks.
